Backup & Data Guide

Keep business records safer with a simple backup routine.

MLA includes manual backup and export workflows for authorized administrative use. This guide explains a cautious routine without exposing passwords, OTPs, recovery codes or other security secrets.

Manual backup routine

Five checks before you consider a backup complete

Use the in-app backup control only from an authorized account and keep the resulting copy under the customer organization’s control.

01

Confirm the right account

Use an authorized Admin or Owner workflow. Confirm you are working in the intended MLA Lab / business context before starting.

02

Use a stable connection

Avoid switching networks or closing the app/browser while the backup action is still processing.

03

Wait for completion

Do not assume the backup is finished until MLA shows the normal completion/result state for that action.

04

Store the copy safely

Keep downloaded backup files in a restricted business folder or other controlled location. Do not leave them in public/shared folders.

05

Record when it was made

Note the backup date and the business context so the correct copy can be identified later if support or recovery is needed.

Good operating habit

Create a backup at meaningful business checkpoints.

A practical routine is to keep a current authorized backup around important operational changes instead of waiting for a problem to happen.

Before major setup changesBranch, staff, master-data or access changes should be made carefully and with a recent backup available.
After important accounting reviewOnce critical balances and statements have been checked, keep an appropriate backup for continuity.
Before support-led recovery workIf recovery or import work is ever required, first identify the correct known-good backup and contact support if you are unsure.
DATA

Protect exported business files

Backups, statements and PDFs may contain sensitive laboratory, patient and accounting information. Once exported from MLA, the customer organization controls how that copy is stored or shared.

EDIT

Do not manually alter backup data

Editing backup content can make a recovery copy unreliable. Keep the original file unchanged unless a documented support workflow specifically requires otherwise.

REC

Be cautious with recovery

Do not use an uncertain, old or edited backup for recovery. If you are not sure which copy is correct, contact Customer Care before taking recovery action.

SEC

Never include account secrets

A backup-support conversation should never require your password, OTP, recovery code, private key or Android signing / keystore password.

Backup is one layer

Continue checking the accounting records themselves.

A backup preserves a data state; it does not prove that every entry was originally correct. Continue reviewing critical figures and statements as part of normal business control.

  • Review Cash, Bank / UPI and branch collection figures.
  • Check patient pending, L2L balances and outsource payables where relevant.
  • Review Vendor / Stock Bills and major expense/payment entries.
  • Generate the relevant PDF statement when a period needs confirmation.
Need backup help?

Share the problem — not your secrets.

Tell Customer Care the Lab / Branch, user role, approximate backup date/time and the exact screen/error message. Do not send a full backup file unless support specifically asks for it as part of a defined recovery workflow.
